Menganalisis Ketidaknyamanan Emosional Remaja dalam Keluarga: Studi Kasus pada Seorang Mahasiswa

This study aims to identify factors that contribute to a person's discomfort while living at home, with an emphasis on unhealthy family relationships. The subject in this study was a 20-year-old college student who preferred spending the night at a friend's house rather than staying at home, due to conflicts with his authoritarian and aggressive father, and a lack of emotional support from his mother. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews to collect data. The findings indicate that the subject's discomfort was not caused by a serious mental disorder, but by emotional distress resulting from problematic family relationships. Support from friends serves as a protective barrier, but cannot completely replace the family's role in creating a sense of security. These findings were analyzed using attachment theory, family systems theory, stress and coping mechanisms theory, and psychosocial development theory. This study recommends psychological interventions including individual counseling and family therapy to support the restoration of the subject's emotional balance and improve healthy family relationships
