Telaah Ayat-ayat al-Mufliḥūn dalam Tafsir Al-Misbah

Abstract

Happiness is a fundamental goal of human life; however, in modern society, it is often understood in materialistic terms and oriented solely toward worldly satisfaction. The Qur'an offers a more comprehensive concept of happiness through the term al-falāḥ, which encompasses success, prosperity, and salvation in both this world and the hereafter. This study aims to analyze the concept of happiness from the Qur'anic perspective and examine the relevance of M. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of the verses concerning al-mufliḥūn. This research employs library research using a descriptive-analytical approach, which helps provide a more comprehensive understanding of the concept of happiness in the Qur'an. The primary source of data is Tafsir al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab, while secondary sources consist of books, journals, and scholarly works related to the research topic. The findings show that the concept of happiness in the Qur'an is understood as holistic success in life and is not limited merely to material aspects. Such happiness is related to the quality of human relationships with Allah, fellow human beings, and the ultimate purpose of life. This study demonstrates that Qur'anic values can serve as a foundation for realizing genuine and sustainable happiness.
