An Analysis of Using the Drill Method to Improve the Memorising Ability of Qur'an Short Surah in English to Santri at TPQ Al-Akbar, Sorong City

This research aims to find out: 1) How is the drill method applied to improve the ability to memorise short surah in English for students, and 2) What are the obstacles faced in applying the drill method to improve the ability to memorise short English of surah for students at TPQ Al-Akbar, Sorong City. This research uses a qualitative approach. Qualitative with the descriptive type of research. Data collection techniques are done with interviews and documentation. The subjects of the study were the builders and students of English classes. The analytical techniques used are Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion data. The results showed that 1) the application of drill methods used by English classroom builders can improve the ability to memorise surahs in English against santri in TPQ Al-Akbar Kota Sorong, 2) Obstacles faced in the application of drill methods to improve the ability to memorise surahs in English there is two internal and external vehicle. There are pronunciation and time constraints in internal constraints while in external constraints, namely the environment, friends, and memorisation.
