This study aims to examine the impact of a lack of family acceptance and emotional support on the psychological well-being of a young adult, as well as the relevance of this issue to individual counseling services. A qualitative approach utilizing a case study design was employed, focusing on a 23-year-old female subject who had experienced family issues since childhood. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed thematically. The results indicate that the subject's emotional struggles stemmed from a lack of acceptance following her parents' divorce—rather than the divorce event itself—leading to feelings of sadness, disappointment, and a loss of security, as well as difficulty trusting others. Nevertheless, social support from her biological mother, partner, and close friends served as a protective factor, helping the subject maintain her psychological functioning. These findings underscore the importance of a Person-Centered counseling approach—emphasizing unconditional acceptance, empathy, and authenticity—integrated with the values of *rahmah* (mercy/compassion) and *mawaddah* (affection/love) from the perspective of Islamic Guidance and Counseling, as a means of fostering the individual's psychological and spiritual recovery
