Personal data collected through the journal's website and online submission and editorial management system are processed responsibly and used only for legitimate purposes related to scholarly publishing, editorial administration, communication, and the improvement of journal services. This Privacy Statement explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, protected, and managed in connection with the journal's activities.

1. Information We Collect

The journal may collect personal information that users voluntarily provide when registering an account, submitting a manuscript, reviewing a submission, communicating with the editorial team, or subscribing to journal notifications. Such information may include names, institutional affiliations, professional titles, email addresses, usernames, country or region of affiliation, and other information necessary for editorial and publishing activities. Authors may also provide manuscript files, acknowledgements, funding information, declarations of competing interests, and other materials required for scholarly publication.

The journal's online system may also process limited technical information, such as login activity, submission history, and system-generated usage records, where these are necessary for security, troubleshooting, system administration, and the proper operation of the journal platform. The journal seeks to limit data collection to information that is relevant and reasonably necessary for these purposes.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

Personal information is used to manage manuscript submissions, coordinate peer review, communicate editorial decisions, prepare accepted manuscripts for publication, maintain journal records, provide access to published content, respond to inquiries, and administer user accounts. Information concerning authors and reviewers will be handled in accordance with the journal's peer-review model and editorial policies. Where a review process requires reviewer anonymity, the journal will take reasonable measures to protect reviewer identities and confidential review materials. Editorial records associated with published articles may need to be retained for an extended period to document publication decisions, respond to post-publication inquiries, and support investigations into research or publication ethics.

When personal information is no longer required for a legitimate purpose, the journal will seek to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it where appropriate and permitted by applicable requirements. Retention and deletion decisions must take account of legitimate scholarly recordkeeping needs and any relevant legal obligations.
