This issue describes current trends in science learning innovation and evaluation in Eastern Indonesia. The first article discusses how a combination of gamification and animation improves students' spatial abilities through problem-based learning. The second article describes the development and implementation of interactive flipbooks as a science learning resource in elementary schools. The third article explores the relationship between critical thinking skills and the quality of students' independent assignments in histology courses. All three studies reinforce the importance of an active-constructivist approach, technology integration, and evaluation leading to higher-order skills in science education.
